Today, it has been one of those busy days – with more pending tasks to handle than the available time would allow us to. Summer Youth College is just around the corner (June 21 to July 29) with the task of setting up of over 140 classes for over 500 children between 8-14 years. 5:05 PM: Elke came to me with a request from Eileen to create a descriptive name for:

Turns out they wanted a descriptive alias for this URL to place on the flyers, give out to others, etc – something easy to remember than a cryptic, numeric xID. I created an alias for it as:

http://palmbeachstate.edu/SYCBocaRegistration.xml

It took precisely 15 seconds in Ingeniux CMS and I remember Elke exclaiming in disbelief, “That’s it?”. Bingo! These new HP machines we got last month with 4 GB memory and Windows 7 are very efficient and fast for slow Java applications such as Ingeniux. This is the greatest relief I am enjoying with Ingeniux on my new system. On my old machine, it would have taken me anywhere from 2-3 minutes for the same task. My old machine with half a gig memory on XP really, really used to test my patience!

Now, both the above links go to the “How to Register For Summer Youth College” Web page while the alias is absolutely, positively and definitely much easier to remember/guess, similar to:
